About

BeKinder Farm is a 5-acre mini-farm located in Talala, OK. The farm has been built from the ground up with a lot of trial and error, blood, sweat, and (lots of) tears. The farm grows every year, all with the goal of being as close to a self-sustaining permaculture farm as possible one day. It is very important to me to use natural and holistic practices to raise my animals and plants. I would not feed or apply anything to my animals, plants, or customers, that I would not willingly do to myself. Therefore, I do not use chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. I practice no-till planting to preserve the vital microbiome of the topsoil and use compost made here on the farm to help enrich the soil. As a beekeeper, I am keenly aware of how dangerous even some "natural" pesticides can be to beneficial insects, so I use companion planting and runner ducks to help control unwanted insects in the garden and around the farm. My animals are only vaccinated or given medicine when it is absolutely medically necessary. I chose very specific animals and breeds to fit the environment and weather of the area, in addition to their reputation for disease-resistance and hygienic nature. These were all supposed to be "working farm animals", but if you have met me, then you know that was never going to happen... my animals are my spoiled babies, my best friends, and my whole heart.
I believe that by being kinder to the Earth and all of Her creatures, that I can produce body products, food items, animals, plants, and much more that will help us be kinder to ourselves.
