A feed bag can take anywhere from 20 to 1000 years to decompose, according to an article on disposabledesign.com. By transforming these bags into items like reusable shopping bags we can do a double good deed by using what is already here and not using more plastic shopping bags each grocery run. As someone who tries to avoid plastic exposure to my foods and skin for health reasons (autoimmune disease), I feel safe using these for food transport because (a) most foods are packaged, (b) even unpackaged produce will only be in the bag a limited time, and (c) the bag is meant to be worn or carried over clothing, so it isn’t in direct contact with skin for a prolonged time.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis collection has just begun, and we expect to come up with several more highly useful designs to reduce, reuse, and recycle what others may have sent to a landfill. \u003c\/p\u003e","products":[{"product_id":"upcycled-reusable-crossbody-purse","title":"Upcycled Reusable Crossbody Purse","description":"\u003cp\u003eIf you are trying to minimize your purchases by minimizing the size of the bag in which you have to transport them (somehow that psychological trick never works for me), then there is the smaller Crossbody Purse.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Crossbody Purse still has a large enough compartment to make it functional for smaller shopping trips. As someone whose weight has fluctuated massively throughout my life, there is nothing I hate more than finding a cute crossbody bag and then not being able to fit it over my chest and the bag ends up almost in my armpit. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs always, this strong woven poly material sourced from my animals' feed bags, is very water resistant (almost waterproof, but it may leak at the seams), which makes this particular bag ideal for summertime outings with items that you don't want to get soaked when the Oklahoma weather changes her mood and decides to rain buckets on you while you're at the zoo or on a hike. The velcro-closure flap, helps secure items inside the bag, which also makes it handy for doing farm chores like collecting eggs, harvesting fruit and veg, etc. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe tea from D: This design was largely inspired by suggestions from my coworkers. Either size is good for a small trip to the store. In double-handle mode, the bag sits upright nicely in the cart so I can load it (I have to stop buying things when nothing else will fit in the bag) and stays open so I can unload it to check out. Then BAM!
